Expeditions and Adventures

Dave has travelled thousands of miles under his own steam using various modes of transport. So far he has completed four journeys in Expedition1000, Dave’s epic project involving 25 1000+ mile journeys, each by a different means of non-motorised transport.

1. Skateboard - Perth to Brisbane, Australia
An ambitious (but successful) attempt to break the world distance skateboarding record, Dave pushed his board 3618 miles across Australia between August 2006 and January 2007.

2. Kayak - Murray River, Australia
Dave kayaked the 1540 mile length of Australia's most important waterway in 2009, investigating why the Murray is struggling to reach the sea.

3. Tandem Bicycle - Vancouver, BC to Las Vegas 
Dave and his friend Sebastian Terry pedalled a Tandem Bicycle from Vancouver, BC to Las Vegas in April 2011, 1396 miles in 14 days.

4. Stand Up Paddleboard - Mississippi River
In the Summer of 2011 Dave broke another Guinness World Record, paddling 2404 miles from source to sea along the Mississippi river, standing up!

Smaller Adventures

Skateboard - John O'Groats to Lands End (2006)
Dave became the first person to skate the length of Britain on his first endurance expedition, when he arrived at Lands End, Cornwall after a 34 day journey from John O'Groats, Scotland on June 2nd 2006

Aquaskipper (2007)
It's hard to get more creative than an Aquaskipper. An iron horse? A water-trike? No matter, whatever it is, Dave managed to break the British speed record on it...

Lake Geneva Crossing (2010)
In April 2010 Dave and his friend Sebastian Terry became the first people to Stand Up Paddleboard the 87km length of Lake Geneva, from Villeneuve to Geneva.

Blue Bath to London (2010)
Dave and Sarah Outen Stand Up Paddleboarded across England between Bath and London's Tower Bridge, inviting people to join them in their capacity as Blue Ambassadors.
